Blackbird

This is my most ambitious project so far, and also the final number on the album “Lyckorna”, together with the previously released singles. The initial inspiration to write this came from observing a little blackbird, spending early summer mornings on the lawn outside the bedroom window, while singing for me. Gradually it evolved to philosophical thoughts regarding life, detah, and the meaning of it all. Some say that the song is dark, but I do not think so myself.

Walking Down The Liffey

This new song is a homage to Irish musicians (e.g. Rory Gallagher, Van Morrison) and Irish authors (e.g. Samuel Beckett, James Joyce). There is something truly magic with Ireland and Dublin. High quality music and literature just about everywhere. And while the green hills are so beautiful, there is also something spooky in the ambient atmosphere.
Liffey is the river, which flows through the centre of Dublin, and Temple Bar is the city’s centre of nightlife. The inspiration to the original chord progression of the song, with alternating 7 and maj7 chords, came as a gift from above to Lars some years ago, when peacefully strolling along the River Liffey together with local friend Ricky Ellis.
